Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)1. What are your rates? Please click here for more information on rates. 2. What hours do you operate? The hours of each site are different. Generally we provide before school care 2 hours before school begins; our pm programs run from dismissal to 6 pm. Dedicated preschool hours are 7am-6pm. 3. Do you provide weekend care? No, unfortunately we do not provide weekend care. 4. Do you provide care on holidays? No, Vermont Hills Family Life Center does not provide care on national holidays. 5. Are there programs during winter, spring, and summer break? Yes, we do provide winter, spring, and summer break programs. Keep your eye on the main page for more information as the breaks approach. 6. Is there coverage during school inservice days? Yes, we do provide coverage for most school inservice days. 7. Where is your program located? Please call the main office for specific information on the location of your program. 8. What types of activities do you provide in the program? 9. Are snacks provided? Yes, all of our snacks meet USDA requirements. VHFLC works hard to provide children with nutritious snacks. "The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the State of Oregon prohibit discrimination in all USDA programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, or disability." 10. Do you provide transportation? We do not provide transportation to or from our sites. We are able to work with some school districts to provide transportation on a case by case basis. If you are interested please contact your Regional Supervisor for more information. 11. Are the age groups mixed? At the dedicated preschool locations infants, toddlers, and preschool are seperated by age. In our school age locations the groups may or may not be seperated depending on the situation. Please contact us for more information. 12. Is there homework time provided? We do provide homework time and assistance on a daily basis in all our school age programs. 13. What is the teacher-child ratio? We follow state guidlines regarding our teacher-child ratios. Currently the ratios are as follows: School Age 1:15, Preschool 1:10, Toddlers 1:5, and Infants 1:4. 14. How do I register? To register, you may visit our main office and register in person or register online by clicking here. 15. How soon after I register can my child attend? You must register by 12:00 PM Pacific Time on the business day before you wish your child to attend. 16. Do I recieve discounts for registering multiple children? Yes, we do offer a discount on registration fees if you register multiple children. We also offer a 2nd child discount if both children attend 4-5 days per week and are on monthly tuition. The discount is 5% and is applied to the tuition of lesser value. 17. Do you accept DHS assistance? Yes, we do work with DHS to provide care to those in need. If you require assistance with this process please call us for more information. 18. Do you provide scholarships or financial aide? Yes, we do provide scholarships for those in need. Please call us for more information. 19. Who do I call if my school age child is absent? If your child is going to be absent from the program we require that you notify us; please call us at the main office and we will make sure the information is passed on to the site. 20. Who do I call if my pre-school child is absent? Please contact the preschool site your child attends. 21. Who do I call if my child needs to attend an extra day? For school age and school based preschool children please call the main office, for dedicated preschool sites please contact the site directly. 22. Do I recive reimbursements, trading, or credits for days not used? Vermont Hills Family Life Center does not reimburse or credit unused days. 23. Is there a discount in December or March tuition due to school closure? No, these rates are calculated and averaged for the year in order to make each month a consistent and easy to remember amount. 24. What is your inclement weather policy? ** TBA 9/08 ** 25. How do I withdraw my child? If you would like to withdraw your child we require notification in writing or by email to the main office. At least a two weeks notice is required. 26. How do I change my child's schedule? If your child attends a dedicated preschool site please contact the site you attend. If you have a school age child please submit your request in writing by email or regular mail to the main office. At least a two weeks notice is required. 27. Is lunch provided on inservice "down days"? No, we do provide a morning and afternoon snack but we do not provide lunch. 28. What is your billing address?
