Effective July 1st, 2026, the 2026/2027 rates will be applied to childcare tuition. These updated rates reflect a significant increase, to keep VHFLC in your child’s school. All related transactions, agreements, and billing will adhere to these updated rates starting July 1st, 2026.

In February 2025, the Hillsboro School District Board of Directors approved a significant rent increase for all child care providers using school facilities.

For the 2026–2027 school year, nonprofit providers will be charged 42% of the school’s actual facility cost per hour, and that amount will increase to 50% the following year.

Because rent is one of our largest operating expenses, this change has a major impact on the cost of providing after-school care in your child’s school.

To continue offering this program and maintain the quality of care families rely on, we have to raise tuition more than we typically would this year.

We know this is difficult for families, and this decision was not made lightly.
